Even though I daresay it doesn't give me any communist vibes, it's an alright avatar.

The problem, as far as I can see, is that the beams looks way too... regular. Make them pop a bit more.

Wrong. That's how it is in the screenshot I took. The shadows are not edited at all.

Then your shader is messed up, because your shadow suggests your foot is a series of blocks.

the shader isnt anything particularly amazing, but it looks nice for sillouettes

my only gripe would be that you make the sillouette completly black, the details of your textures make it look slightly dirty

You should up the light emeition of the tori, so that your set shows up better.
