This is what I mean. The fact that you have shaders 2.0 and OpenGL 2.0 yet it won't run, isn't a matter of optimizing. It's a matter of fixing the bugs. Optimizing is getting it to run better on cards that can already run it. And right now the priority is getting more support for more cards, like yours. But everyone is complaining that their card can run it, but it runs at <1 fps. That's why I said, optimizing is not the problem now.

The only choice is to either wait for hampa to fix it, or get a new graphics card. If you can't get a new one, you'll have to use 2.x graphics until shaders are made available for your card. And note that this does not mean that hampa will be able to add support to ANY card. For example, he probably won't be able to add support for FX5200, because it does not completely support shaders 2.0, or OpenGL 2.0. Support for it would need a massive rewrite of the graphics engine, and it isn't something that easy to do, and would probably halt ANY other further progress by a fair bit. Now do you prefer to have a game that's getting new stuff added daily, but because (at the moment, who knows what you might get for Christmas or whatever) you can't get a new graphics card it won't run, or a game that's been in development freeze for 3 months just to add support for a specific card?

Keep in mind you still have 2.x graphics. You don't need shaders. They probably aren't even wanted. The only reason you want them is because they're knew and they look good. But since your card can't run them, even if it did, the fps drop would be major and you wouldn't want to play with them.

Seriously, ask your parents for a graphics card that's new enough, or save up for one, and keep using 2.x graphics until then. By then the shaders will also be optimized enough for you to play it good enough with a low-end graphics card, and gameplay stuff will be added too, because they won't have to spend agers to add support for older cards.

I don't see the big deal with 2.x graphics. I think they're fine. Granted, cell-shading gets mighty annoying after some time, but it isn't that bad.
