Original Post
please excuse this interruption in your regularly scheduled playlist.
I created this thread so that I may expose the hidden beauty and raw awesome of some of my favorite music. If anyone would like to post some of there alternative* music they like, feel free, or if you would just like to comment that's kul too. Please keep metal out of this. I can't stand it.

EDIT: PREEMPTIVE STRIKE ON TECHNO: I WILL HAVE NONE OF IT

*nobody can know about it :O

lax genreless music. you can find the rest of their work on itunes.

I love you
Lang Lang's interpretation of the 2nd Hungarian Rhapsody is so shoddy, in my opinion... I'd suggest this one: (the one I think is best)

But yes, the Hungarian Rhapsodies are amazing pieces of work.

I'd also suggest Ludovico Einaudi's Oltremare:

...or even Chopin's 4th Prelude, Opus 28, seeing as you like Chopin:

Thing about classical music is that there is soooo much to choose from; contemporary, romantic, baroque... all sounding different and unique in their own ways.

Big kudos to you for liking it.
Thread for posting obscure youtube links yey.

Fusion Jazz

Let's pretend that was Lou Reed and we all shall piss honey

Black Metal

bud, no metal.

video #1 just some slow guitar that i find hard to listen to. (basically slow metal)

video #2 was a stuttering drum beat and throaty grunts (basically metal)

video #3 was just not that great in my opinion

/newtopic

i find that when i listen to classical music i have fun trying to figure out the story/emotions/scene the composer is attempting to imose on you. here is a more popular classical composition that reminds me of two people falling from the sky, fighting each other

also, this popular song you may have heard reminds me (and possibly you) of a ww2 era dogfight.

more soon d00ds

EDIT: tell me what you think of safe in sound by mad gregs (first post)

You could have mentioned in the opening post that nothing but classical music from various eras, art pop and jazz are allowed.

One of the best antiwar folk songs

Socialist song against proletarian dictature awesomeeh.

There aren't too many good psychobilly bands out there but here's one

Not a big fan of it... it's just really not my type, I'd wait for someone else to say their thoughts on it. And sure, your opinion is your opinion, and I'll respect it.

Also, you just posted two pieces that are simply EPIC. Specially the first one, it's such a powerful and moving piece.

But yeah, another recommendations of epic music while we're at it:

Chopin's Winter Wind Etude:

Also, the 5th Hungarian Dance by Brahms:

Enjoy, dude. I have a huge classical music library, so just get me on IRC and ask about any composer you might have in mind, if you want some stuff to listen to. It's not a hassle at all.
the winter wind started off boing but it penetrated my mind after the first minute and lurved it. i remember the sound of the 5th hungarian dance from a lot of stuff, but i still like it. btw, not that i don't appreciate it, but do you have anything non-classical you feel more people need to listen to?

newtopic-

here's something some of you might remember from little big planet, boys and girls

EDIT:

MOAR EDIT

EDIT ONCE AGAIN: i heard these guys live at a festival in Toronto and bought one of their CDs. they're pretty good for people this unheard of. btw, this is the best quality vid i could find of them.

Gah!

I love "Dream a little dream of me". I'd much rather have a woman singing it, not taking away from Louis Armstrong's amazing voice.

Those two versions are my personal favourites...

Let me dig up on my library a bit and I'll post a few non-classical stuff here.
I like the way louis accents the words. The melody of the words are different, and I just prefer louis' more.
might you have any early jazz, because I'm looking for some good stuff.

here's something i heard from fallout 3 that's within my search criteria

not that great, but i'd listen to it :/

this is amazing.
I love you
