It's not like god was unimaginative about how he killed people either; he ordered to break baby skulls on rocks (what the fuck??), rape & kill married women, gave boils and plagues and summoned locust swarms, etc etc. It's as if he was having fun experimenting.

Funny how you manage to use everything out of context.
There was a reason that made god plague the Egyptian race. They enslaved god's people and tortured them. They were warned about what would happen if they wouldn't release the Hebrews, they just didn't want to listen.

Then again... I don't live in the US, where it seems that being a Christian is standard. It's not really as religious around here in Holland, most people are atheists or just can't care any less about things like religion or spirituality. Making people respond completely different to Christians, in a much less positive way.

Murder is murder regardless of whether the executioner finds it justified. If i was around prior to WW2 and managed to shoot Hitler before he formed Nazi party, i would be a murderer. Would it make me feel bad? Not a bit. But i would have broken "the sacred" biblical commandment.
Amazing how you don't see how many things are wrong with Egypt story.
God openly favors certain group of people over others.
God is OK with slavery everywhere else but when Egyptians held Jews as slaves. God kills every firstborn of every Egyptian family, even though Pharaoh was the one who had anything to do with it. But then, he dished even less justified punishment after original sin, so hey. Nothing new.

Plus there are many other instances where god orders people to murder and rape others (thus breaking his commandments).

I'm agnostic atheist. Care to point me where i called anyone ignorant, stupid, dumb or a hypocrite? If i do want to insult someone i usually do it subtly - blunt name calling is not my style.

1. Hitler was definetly not God.
2. God didn't order the deaths of millions of people at once. And when he ordered deaths it wasn't discrimination (Hitlers case: Being Jewish), it was because the sinned.
3. God never ordered rape.

For the record, god killed roughly 2 million people in the bible, many of which were innocent children. Still short of hitler, but there is no reason to assume that only the deaths recorded in the bible were caused by Him.

Read a few post above, where me and Mapleleaf are talking about God killing Egyptians because their leader (wasn't democracy back then, either) would not let Jews go free. Plus it's still a murder regardless of how justified/not justified it is in someone's eyes.
