its been happening ever since i downloaded toribash.but now im fed up with it.its gotten worse.usually when i start up toribash and it instantly all goes white and says ''tb.exe has stopped working'' and sometimes now it goes like that when im watching replays , playing online and other times.

You have that problem basically because you are running windows vista.
Toribash has some problems especially on 64 bit Vista's.

Have you tried reinstalling Toribash?

I'm using Windows 7, and yesterday, Toribash worked(I have a stream on Twitch, in case you don't believe me).

Today, though, even if I start it with the plain .exe file in the installation folder instead of the shortcut, I get 'Toribash.exe has stopped responding.'

I have completely re-installed Toribash, and now when I run it, the top of the window says "SDL_app (Not Responding)."
After being in this window, when I go back to the Toribash window, it doesn't have the '(Not Responding)' part.

And, right after typing the word 'part,' Toribash crashed with no warnings.
As in the window closed itself.

I checked the Event Viewer, and it seems to have the same problem as the first one.

And, after starting a different game because I couldn't start Toribash, I get "Your graphics card does not seem to support Shader Model 1.1+. Would you like to swap to OpenGL mode?"
There is some other stuff in the message, but it's just saying that I should click 'Yes' if it's my first time starting it.
Maybe that's related to my problem.

But I've got more info:
I think it may be a problem with DirectX.
I started opening some random programs, and none of them started but a game emulator I have.
Fraps gave me this:
"There was a problem initializing DirectX 9.

Please ensure your video drivers are up to date and you have the latest version of DirectX installed."

But I don't know what the current version of DirectX is, or how to update drivers, OR how to check what version of DirectX I have installed.

Though I can just search all of those.

A fifth edit:
It seems no Direct3D or DirectX programs will start, though all of them worked just last night.

Even my NES emulator won't open a game.
'Error opening "CUsers\roboaedin\Desktop\My Programs\Emulators and Related\fceux-2.2.1\ROMs\Legend of Zelda.nes"!'

And I DO own a legitimate copy of that game, just so you know. >,>
But the SNES emulator works. At least I won't be bored forever.

I logged off of and back on to my user on the computer... and now Toribash has started.

Yes, numerous times. And a while ago I turned off shaders to see if it would still glitch, and it still happened. So will this problem progress even if i get Windows 7, or will there be more problems?

I'm not sure, but TB still has problems on windows 7, too.

Which client are you using? As far as I know 3.8 worked better then 3.82 or 3.83

I started out with 3.8, then switched to 3.83, then back to 3.8.

As a last resort, 3.62 would probably work. It's good, speed wise and it probably won't crash.

i can go with the closing glitch, but i would like to keep my textures. its more of a nuisance than a problem.

XP64 & Vista 64 are both fully working with TB. I use both with no issues.
(Windows 7 has issues related to GFX drivers & Piss-poor GL support)

So lets find out what the exact problem is you're having.

Go into your Control Panel, then Administrative Tools, then Event Viewer.

Open Windows Logs, then select Application.

Look in the list for TB.EXE crashing & post the reason it gives here. It'll be easy to spot, there'll either be a ! or X icon where it falls over.
