Secret Santa 2024
This is off topic, but getting injured in any way by falling out of an ambulance is one of the most ironic things I've heard of.

it was against the laws of the country, and as such she still deserved the punishment.

This is the only reason why I think she should go to jail. Just because you believe that something is right doesn't mean you can break the law to do it.

obviously, she's not the only one "who believes it's right". the only reason laws aren't changed for mercy killings is because it would be abused, like everything else. the law is retarded. the whole criminal system is, in fact, retarded. there have been cases when judges/jurys let the "murderer" go, because it's both emotionally and logically right. unfortunately, there are also cases where serial-rapists, pedophiles, real dangerous people, and mankinds other scum, have been released because of technicalities. the law is imo not absolute, because even though she was convicted because "she's a danger to society" or whatever the hell our reason for convicting people is nowadays, we are all saying that "it's right".

he didn't have the means to kill himself, so she did the right thing, period.

Heh.
Helping slaves escape was against the law some time ago, did abolitionists 'deserve' to get imprisoned? Surely we aren't talking about right or wrong from legal standpoint, but from humanitarian.

Point being: if people never expressed protest against the laws they see unfair, we would still have kings who are granted absolute power in every country.

Perhaps it would have been wiser to take a more suddle approach as opposed to breaking the law outright, but what good would blogging and protesting do in her case? She needed solution right there, immediately. Changing the law could take years or decades.
