New computer for poop
i got about 1000$ to spend, and i was wondering what system i should get, mac or pc, after u vote suggest a good model and graphics card.

i would get a mac. Even if you dont like OS X, seeing that you already have a windows machine (presumably with an install disk), you could always just install that instead (or use dual-booting so you can use both XP and OS X).

choose some huge monitors and a decent graphics card. Then purchase the rest of the computer on the money left over. And install linux.

I recently spent about £100 on the cheapest components I could find to build a new computer. AND this new computer just slightly outperforms everything else I own.
