Who here is from Amsterdam?
I'm going there in a few days, and I'm wondering if anyone can give me any tips on where to go.
I will not be accepting any answers about rather liberal cafés or anything remotely to do with red light districts. The purpose of this thread is for people to tell me some awesome places (preferably where there won't be a dickload of tourists).

Amsterdam is cool. I went like a week ago ( I live 100km away from there, and had free train tickets). I got myself a drink on the leidseplein, I shopped in the Kalverstraat and visited the Anne-Frank house ( again, and still not interesting, but I was with a friend who is into history ) and some other cultural things. I also liked the hard rock cafe.
Then I went to Utrecht, was way more awesome ^_^

seriously, check out Soundgarden though. It's a bar just off the marnixstraat.. great atmosphere and cheap drinks
edit- plus pretty close to where you're staying if i remember rightly.
The sights are really cool in amsterdam though..well worth taking a break from being blazed to actually see the city.

Why has no one mentioned the fact that marijuana is legal there?(Then again it is common sense) You should probably tell this nice man where to get some, if he wants to know.
