There are all these cool mobile devices, but they ruin them with ports and plugs and such.

Power plug? WHO NEEDS THEM. Wireless power is so cheap and easy that EVERYTHING that possibly can be charged with wireless, should be.

USB port? I don't much care! Anything I can do on USB can be accomplished with bluetooth or wifi.

Firewire port? On a laptop or tablet? Seriously?!

Headphones port? Bluetooth yo.

Proprietary port (I'm looking at you, Apple)? WHY IN GODS NAME WOULD YOU DO THIS.



My latest annoyance is the Kindle and Noteslate, and every tablet. Seriously just sell it to me with a charging mat, and I will be happy.

If everything had no ports, then for devices like the Kindle, Noteslate, and iPad, because they are complete products, they could be completely sealed and watertight. Imagine that, not having to worry about spilling things on your devices.
BUT NOOooooOOOoo, they have to go and put 3.5mm's and USB's and/or power ports on every friggin thing.

Most devices have at least 100 hours of battery life (except laptops which still have retardedly short 8 hours)

usb ports are used in everything to charge for flash drives in the government we need them to use our computers to there full extent

sounds more like you guys are bitching, anyway i agree with a lot of devices but until they perfect the battery life on devices like my android phone (which if left unplugged will go dead in less than 1 full day) then i don't see that all devices could work with it.

i see other devices as having this downfall also but if you're talking about devices that already have batteries then i would agree with the wireless charging. they are probably going to make a phone or something here soon that you buy with a charge mat charger instead of a usb charger but i bet you it will still have usb so people can connect it to their computers.

the other shortside to this idea is that not everyone understands how to use bluetooth for file transfers. which would be why the phone would still have the usb port.

the idea is possible but at the moment it's not exactly logical from a market point of view

also the headset thing, i have a bluetooth headset which has to be charged with a usb cord. when it's charging i cannot use it for anything and it's a pain in the ass because the battery life is also really short. i think it would add to more of a frustration in that category if everything was bluetooth is all.

Also devices without any sort of ports... Wow, I think all of my devices from my Xbox, to my phone, to my DS, to my TV, all the way to my Computer need these inefficient holes.

It would be cool to have an airtight device, but it would need to wireless. If it was wireless I highly doubt it would let you put music files that have not been bought on it.

USB ports are extremely useful as it allows me to do random ass things with my XBOX, TV and my Computer, since so many random ass accessories exist with usb ports.
