how to make ugly rip gone?

for shading, instead of using drop shadow, duplicate the layer, make the bottom layer all black (if you're using GIMP then I would do this by going to colors->colorize then set the lightness to -100) after that, go to filters->blur->gaussian blur and apply it to the black layer. That's the simple way to do it, ofc a lot of higher ups don't
