Once, i went into a server in multiplayer.
when it was my turn to fight, i saw something weird.
i had a flame. well, actually 2 flames. here is the thing, i have never bought a flame in my life, so that had me super surprised. I was disappointed, though because i downloaded my textures after i bought a new item, and the flames were gone...

can someone possibly tell me what happened?

Probably it was just a glitch when you turned on shaders and didn't go to utils/shaders/default.tga which would take the flame off.

Glitch flames are common in toribash.
Usually they will be someone elses flame that uploaded onto you.
They are not permanent in many cases.
In some cases "uke" will have a flame. But that will change within a few days.

As an added note: you can have an artificial flame. One that only you can see and will stay on you.
