Well, now your chances are minimal.

There is a specific 'season' for people to apply to moderators, as far as I know, they create an announcement, saying that interested and capable people can post an application to become such. I said your chances are minimal because it is extremely unusual for them to accept people who ask to become mods, or ask how to.

Put your eyes on the Lmod recruitment threads that they make every time they are low on moderators.
