But again, my position stays the same, saying that you have knowledge of bugs = skill isnt much of a position.

For example today i was playing against ticux and he barely touches my leg in kickbox and breaks it. He said it was Karma <.< and i had to agree because it was so dumb.

There is 2 things that have to be seperated which are the outside view of toribash and the players view of toribash. My brother says its a realistic fighting game but i say that it has lots of bugs because i have the experience of 10000 matchs and he doesnt.

Again, unless new models and bugs are fixed and maybe an overall new image of toribash is created, i dont think you will ever call this an E-sport.

/ps im not saying that you wont win if your a pro cause of bugs, just saying that the game cant be played in a professional level so skill based arguments are invalid IMO.

Firstly, glitches in a game aren't a massive problem. Super smash brothers melee is played incredibly competitively, and it is remarkably glitchy, probably more so than toribash. People just play around them, and even incorporate them into the way they play. Examples: the wavedash (which is also used in several other fighting games, but sakurai did not intend for it to be a part of the game), samus' super-wavedash, edge cancelling etc... So that argument is completely invalid.

Second, those things that oracle mentioned aren't bugs, they are RULES. The leg break against TIcux was caused by crossing a threshold. I really don't understand your argument at all.

i dont understand why you counter argument me by saying other games have bugs too. That is a stupid argument. i.e because some1 jumps from a bridge and survives doesnt mean the other person will survive, sometimes its better to use the stairs !.

Also the dm was probably due to the mod not actually anything that oracle said. ( check brucia comment )

Really just open your eyes and you will see the game still has a long road to go to have a minimum quality ( minimum for E-sport quality )
For example the rooms space where you select the room to play its so not well designed. If toribash cant even have the blackbelt and ultimate rooms full how can you even think about E-sports and defend toribash is a good game for it?

So again, i keep my point, make the game better then think about Esports.

/ps super smash bros has mario in it and cod has alot of games, one had to be good and its the only decent shooter for ps3 i believe.

I don't really understand your retort. He's saying that bugs don't instantly disqualify games from being competitive. You then used the "just because somebody jumps off a bridge doesn't mean you should" response. That doesn't make any sense.

And yes it did have to do with what I said. The basic physics one. Even if it grazes you, it can still put enough force on the joint to break it, because it's focusing a large amount of force on a small area. There are many people that have made replays with grazing hits resulting in dismembers because of that very principle.

And you can't use the argument that a character results in something becoming e-sports worthy because that's not true. SSB became competitive because it had a level of skill that only really dedicated players would reach, and it was an interesting game to watch. CoD4 was one of the best competitive shooters to date because it was balanced, yet not symmetrical or slow paced, resulting in interesting gameplay. Counter Strike enjoys a competitive scene YEARS after it's release and even after a newer version came out because it's fast, interesting, and highly skill-based. E-sports stay or become e-sports because of their potential as a spectator event, and being heavily skill-based, not necessarily because of gameplay or content.
