Almost the same premises went on during Vietnam. We jumped into the conflict, and got ourselves into a whole shit load of bad.

I'm glad that they finally ended the war, though. It was a horrible mistake to jump into it in the first place, and since Vietnam, shouldn't we have already learned this anyway? Nothing good even came from this war, it was inevitably pointless.
