So this computer has been meaning to be build before the Winter time, but that never happened so I wanted to take the time to get to know what you guys thought of this build (What I could have done better, cheaper buy for the better item, etc)

I'm mainly building a high performance, high graphic computer.

Notes:
• It's highly likely that I will change out the monitor displayed here as I don't need built-in speakers, which probably adds a lot to the cost.

• I'm also going to have more memory than one 120GB Solid State Drive.

i would honestly rebuild your list for an i5 setup

2 60gb SSD's versus one 120gb SSD and a 1tb hdd with a gtx 580. 650w psu and a bunch of other parts that are a little cheaper than the ones you chose to help balance out the pc for better gaming performance

because honestly if you're going for gaming performance an i5 2550k is going to be more than enough and it allows you to increase your graphics card choice to a gtx 580 a 650w power supply will be enough for this setup as long as you aren't doing any extensive overclocking with it, in which case a 750w psu would be recommended but this is the list i came up with

also the asus maximus has some better features even though it's based off of the same chipset revision as the p8z68v pro. even though it's micro atx it can still sli/crossfire it also comes with X-Fi audio built in.

Thanks. Main reason why I was going with an i7 (Was hoping i9 would come out before I build) was because I had that extra money, but I'll definitely consider that.

2 60 Gigs seems like it'll be a lot better as I should use 1 of them for my operating system (Speed it up) and the other for regular storage and of course expand it later on with the extra drive bays my case has.

I haven't looked at that entire list as of yet, but I do like that you managed to add in a higher graphics card and a 1tb HDD for barely only a little more in price.

no problem there's a few other ways you can go about a really good gaming build but honestly i would stick to the i5 range for the cpu.

the 2 60gb SSD's can also be put into raid configuration to even further improve performance.

for hard drives at the moment (not ssd's) I would suggest western digital's caviar black series over anything else.


the case i chose is an example merely of the price range i would stick to ($75 - $100) for a good case. i think there's an haf case in that price range as well.
