Now.. Yea i can complain about taking a 7 hour course on a saturday morning, Its long, sunny, and sweaty. Just because i complain about this doesn't mean i don't deserve a gun.

I agree its for killing things, But there are certain things that you kill, Hunting, Police, Etc.

Guns can be used for good, And can be used for bad, But my key word here is "used" The user is the only one controlling that power. Unless the manufacturer fucks up. But they rarely do.

If he reaches for a shotgun, the robber WILL shoot because he now has reason to fear for his life. And the cashier will shoot because he has reason to fear for his life. He's not going to pull out a gun, and then just expect the robber to meekly put his hands up.

And quite frankly, there are several sunny Saturday mornings in your lifetime, losing 7 hours of one of them is nothing to bitch about. If you complain over losing time because of such a meager amount of training, you shouldn't be owning that gun. If you aren't willing to sacrifice something to obtain a weapon, you shouldn't be owning it. If you lived in Canada, you would have to be a part of a handgun club for 3 months, with good attendance, and demonstrate good responsibility, and have several club members vouch for you to even be a candidate to own a handgun. During this time, you would be getting several lessons on the proper operation of a handgun, maintenance, and general safety. Then you need to maintain membership, maintain attendance, and demonstrate responsibility after you get a handgun. If you don't, the club will report you to the local authorities, and they will confiscate your handgun. So in all honesty, if all you had to do was sit through a 7 hour lecture about handguns, you have it easy.

And again, America has proven time and time again that the users are retarded. It doesn't matter if the gun is good or bad. Since there's a good chance that the user is going to be an idiot, there's no reason why a gun should be so readily available. The amount of training that a person has to go through for owning a gun in America is laughable, considering the death toll that comes from gun ownership. Nobody is contesting the 12,000 murders every year from handguns, that number is fact. I also excluded the 16,000 suicides from them, and the 2,000 lethal accidents that happen every year. Out of all that, 600 of those murders are deemed valid for self-defense. 600 vs 11,400. For every 1 life killed in self-defense, 19 are killed in cold-blood. For every 1 life killed in self-defense, over 3 die from an accident. For every 1 life killed in self-defense, nearly 27 people kill themselves with a gun. Are those 600 murders, which include police and civilian incidents, worth the nearly 30,000 deaths?

So you're saying we need restrictions of availability to sell guns to idiots, and that will solve the problem? ;) I like your thinking.

Now if only everyone could think like you and him, this world would be a WAY better place... *for most of us anyways*
But in all reality... I think I might be insane...

Well thats just common sense not to hand a potentially deadly/lethal weapon to an idiot. But yes.

Ok, let's take a look into the past. Say about. (1775-1782), Yeah, that'll do. America's first real war of it's own independence. America's history of having a rebellious attitude has aged back all the way to 1775. Fuck yeah. No seriously, authority isn't something they liked. But enough of my own experiance and opinions. Lets throw in some statistics. Interesting fact for me, (March 23, in Virginia, Patrick Henry delivers a speech against British rule, stating, "Give me liberty or give me death!") *My Birthday*. But here's a few thing's about America, before you go off and insult them/us, in such a way. This is what gun's can do for you. ;) For the liberals. O.o
