After effects is much harder to learn than Sony Vegas.
There is also a trial for sony vegas.

Do not make your situation harder than it already is. Learn Sony Vegas first.

If you'll learn Sony Vegas first, I'd say its harder to get into aae.
Learn the basics of sv and then jump over to aae. Also, watch some tutorials on how to do stuff.
Also, next time, /dl everyone.

I have to somewhat disagree here. Learning to edit relatively well in another program won't do any harm at all. You will get a better understanding of synchronization, you'll get a bit of knowledge regarding effects, and get used to recording programs and how they work, mess around with settings, in game commands and so on.

And Sony Vegas offers you those at a smaller time consumption.

And trust me, for Toribash there's not even need for AE, unless you decide to get too fancy. Sony Vegas will perform just fine.
