Gimp/Texture questions
I want to start getting into making my own crappy textures using Gimp.
I was wondering if there are any Plug-In's or anything of that sort that people would recommend that work well with making textures.
Okay, thanks P0w.
I'm going to leave this open for a bit just in-case someone else has some words of advice.
Ive only been using gimp for like 2 weeks now. All you have to do is get used to the tools and the layers ect. Also if u want to make shadows or some highlights, use the dodge/burn tool. Dodge makes the colors lighter and the burn makes them darker.

Yeah but don't forget you can mix colors to create shadows and highlights. Dodge/Burn is good but I suggest you use brushes to create shadows and what not. Tablets are great but not all people owns one, takes time with the mouse. The good thing about the tablet is that you can add the pressure and just sketch the drawing easy. Details are the most important, experimenting and drawing every day will help you improve. Maybe use some references. The heads in the "Art Expo" might help as examples. I use photoshop but I have both. GIMP is easier but I do recomend PhotoShop, good day!

I never use plugins and all. Honestly, for me plugins are useless.
