how to keep balance?
I can throw a hook (badly), I can (sort of) grapple & I can do a (very bad) sort of roundhouse kick. These are the three moves I can sort of do against a test dummy, when I land them I only get 1 hit because I spend the rest of it half a mile away trying to get my balance, I try to get a back foot under me but it just launches me further away, any tips to be able to regain control after a punch or kick to be able to throw another or even tips on how to keep my feet anchored when I take a (crude) boxer's aproach?

I would also like to know how to throw a jab/cross, uppercut & proper hook from anyone who knows how, but preferably have it tie into how to be able to throw another afterwards and not fall over and flop like a fish for the other 450 or so frames.

Any help is much appreciated, haven't even tried online and haven't tried to get much power behind my hits yet.

Edit: Just fought a uke dummy and punched his arm/head off with a poorly executed jab before falling over backwards myself.

Well we can't really tell you much until you get a bit more experience. You can try spreading your legs and laying low.

ok, thanks anyways, just a question, is going the way of a brawler in matchmaking going to work in any circumstance? I try to fight uke but he throws me out the ring before my punch hits.

Toribash isn't like your usual fighting game , i'm sure you've discovered that by now.
Asking questions such as "how to keep balance?" generally won't help you in any way.
The only way for you to gain balance is to actually get ingame and practice as much as possible , play around in -30mods if that's you thing , otherwise , balance isn't really something you'd really need to worry about in other mods.

Also , despite the fact that you didn't directly ask for sparring tips , this video can possibly help you , even if it's in the slightest .
