The Creation of a game!
Ok guys,

My Pyro buddy, Tyler and I have decided to create a trilogy flash game.

Until we die Part 1: The Awakening, The Passing, Resurrection.

Ill post up some wip pics/codes, most of this will be done in AS3 as far as I know. and were also thinking of making some dark, sketchy backgrounds.

Post thoughts/ideas!

Intresting game concept.
The screenshots and codes totally told me whats going on and how exactly the game is going to work.

It seems like this is going to be one of those realllyyyyyy boring escape games.

You are going to have problems with that code, and later on you are going to realise your systems architecture is not very effective.

When you get bored trying to figure out how to make it work

i suggest

<Faint> the rules have been stated quite clearly 3 times now from high staff
If you want to make this escape thing like game you'll have to generate some really long, descriptive texts, because that's what your game is going to base on, right? Also, that hint system isn't going to work out, it's like telling what the player how to win the game in the first place, you either let them find what they want to look for, either display something like "You can make out the shape of a rotten door in the darkness of the room" so that they know that there is a door there and that they should enter "Search door" in.
This looks quite fancy, although it has been made before.
You should really sketch down every idea you could think about, story, character personalites if you need that, background history, you name it.

There is much to do before actually starting on the game, do not rush anything.

Also update the thread with some additional information etcetera.

Also, go with the usual "Give, take, look, use, walk to" and come up with synonyms for the word, this is also something you should write down. ex. "look, Peek, eye, inspect" ... Well yeah, you get it

Coding that kind of games is not a hard part, making shitload of art for it IS.
Prepare to invest at least one year on that, at the minimum.
Unless you apply some art style that is easy and fast to produce and original enough so even if it looks like job in paint ppl will droll how artsy it is.

But, if there will be just some ''dark, sketchy backgrounds'' than I guess you will finish it sooner. XD

Art for any game is the hardest part of it QQ

For once I totally agree with you. Coding it is fairly easy, as is testing to make sure the code works properly. The art is the most time consuming and difficult part of it.
