Namechanges are more like a tc sink than anything so its not very likely that you can get one with usd.

Most likely not, because admins usually don't use the tc they receive for themselves, being that the entire concept of having a name change revolves around the sinking of tc, hence why it doubles each time you change it.
Perhaps on special occasions they would accept the usds, probably they could add it in to the 1k tourney or something.
Worth a shot to ask, though I think the answered would be no, but who knows.
