Client newsfeed thing
If you play League, you'll see how they advertise various events etc not only on the client login screen, but also the client main screen.

Maybe implement some small banner section of the client for events, or perhaps the whole screen could be taken up with a splash. This would of course be on the initial menu screen.

This would really bring about a boost to user interest not only in organized events, but also would also attract users who might have never even considered that toribash had forums, to the forums. This would boost community activity which means more people for events, yadda

Period.

A client that brings you the news from the forums, perhaps a client inbox for forum private messages, a multiplayer-browser that lets you browse via searching for players in an actual input-box, a list of official servers / a tab to show only official servers, a box / information / tooltip on how the "official" tourneys (500tc/750tc) are going and when the next one starts.

Or so to say; a actually client that brings value rather than a dull html print of the servers running without feeling like a brick wall aka the source server list for early cs 1.6 or similar.

Yes, that would bring a quality feel rather than extinguish any hopes for a great game feel wise all around.
(I'd like to call Toribash the crudest of games ever to go beyond version 4.0 in this modern era without being text-based.)
Now doing recoloring for people not in the clan as-well, PM for more info!

It can happen but right now we dont even have a proper/complete main menu as well as other priorities.

It may be a thing in the future though. Also personally, i dont mind this at all.
Buying/Selling heads by great artists? Shoot me a PM
Didnt we establish a bit ago that we couldn't have a specific link from ingame to the forums? It's not like you can link and inform people anyways? Pardon me if im wrong.

If people are new to the forums and the game how will they know what the event is for and how to work the forums to get to that point? Also you pretty much use the main menu for everything, changing rules, servers, using utils, etc. it would just get in the way. Especially when it's a forum event. If you want to enter a forum event go to the specific forum section or look at the banner on the forums themselves if there's anything so important.

No one said rejecting this idea doesn't mean you don't like the community. It's just for people that like things basic and adding this difficulty and confusion will just decrease interest.

I think a better alternative would just be an echoed link to the forums after the tutorial or an option to view an index of the forum, active staff members, and an option to join rooms that are tournies (servers that have the keyword tourney in the join command)
