The Game is for my school programming assignment
I've made these sprite for the in-game creature

centaur is really really cool, I like his little foot stamps.
the goblin has those tiny shadings under his arm and to the right which are nice.
the wizard seems a bit weird, I think its the shape of his body and how he's standing.
I think the mage and goblin need a few more tiny details to make them more interesting to signify texture or something, but, at the moment they are all fun characters and I would like to see more + the finished project in the future!
[19:59] <Lazors> man it's a good thing people don't see what i write here

Thank you!
yes, the goblin and mage were my first try at Gale
I made them only 15 minutes after installing it ^^
I'll polish them later, but now i focus on making various creature

Also, a new sprite!
freshly made right after i submit this thread, lol

Great art, however, in my opinion those idle animations are a bit too... not idle? I guess. An idle animation should be simple, and not involve much movement. But still, excellent art.

(the animation I was pointing at really was the goblin. He just seems to be moving a bit much for an idle.)(Unless that was intended, in which case nvrmind)

Hmm i don't know, he's only scratching his belly
a normal thing an idle person do

But thank you nevertheless

Edit: FFF NINJA HOLD ON

Well hey, as far as idle animations go, this is actually pretty good! I'm pleased to see that you went above and beyond the usual "2-4 frames of entire sprite bopping up and down" deal that i see so often. Centaur is probably my favourite so far, but i like the skeleton more the longer i look at it. It is the SWAGGEST SKELETON.

For the sprites themselves - as images, not animations - the outlines seem rather rushed; the skeletons ribcage is a noticable aversion to this. I'm guessing that this is mostly because of limited time (or because work in progress or similar situational modifiers), since i kind of get the impression that you could indeed do better than that, if you took some time to really clean up the outlines. It looks kind of like you just drew them with the pencil tool, and nothing else. For a school project though, i'd say they serve their purpose. :v

POST-NINJA ADDITION: That morph is really nice! The sheep is a simple animation, but it works nicely, and i like how you made the head and body slightly asynchronous. Goblinbro turning his head is a bit slow, but it looks about right. My only real spot of critique is that his "innermost" eye snaps rather rapidly in place at the start and end of the animation, as opposed to the very smooth movement of the rest of the turn.

Keep up the good work, and most certainly keep up setting good examples for idle animations! ;)

OMG it's shook! My favorite spriter!
I could learn a thing or two from you c:

Yeah, i noticed the goblin eye snap too fast, that's because i want to make him look to the left/right rather than toward the screen
I'll fix it later

As for image quality, yes i did rush some outline because i focus more on the animating
don't worry, I'll smooth them also
But i think i've done a pretty good job making the rib, no?

Anyway, new sprite!

Inanimate stone to Golem morph

Golem Earth Shockwave attack

Land Shark

Armored Goblin

This animation could do with some more mass to the golem, if that makes sense. At the moment, it's just jiggling its arms up and down, without much sense of ground contact beyond the shockwaves. Now, i'm not terribly good at animating, but here's what i'm thinking that could maybe help a bit:

A bit of easing on the motion. Ideally it should accelerate and decelerate rather slowly, since that would convey a feeling of more mass, and clearly this golembro is quite heavy. However, slow acceleration means that the motion is going to take a lot longer, so you'll probably have to find some kind of compromise. In any case, you'll probably want the downwards speed/acceleration to be higher than the upwards one.

Ah, sorry if you're mistaken that sword
the skeleton supposed to be part robotic (cyborg) and he wield laser-lightsaber thingy, not fire sword c:

Yeah, it doesn't turn out like what i imagine
i plan it to make the arm smash the ground like piston-punching, but its look quite odd now

Mmm normal stuff, i want to make it scale with fullscreen 800x600 or 1600x900

Yep, that's how i wanted the arm to go down, but rapidly
Thing is, i don't know how to animate fast movement without loss of motion quality, so i made regular laying arm down with faster fps (delay .00s from gif) but it looked like faster arm jiggling rather than stomping
What program do you use for spriting and animating Shook?

Anyway, update update update!

I'm using GraphicsGale to set up the frames, and then i export them as individual images (free edition can't export gifs), AND THEN i then use GIMP to piece the animation together.
As for animating fast motions, i've found that surprisingly many people tend to make too small movements when animating, so it ends up fluid but slow. Depending on the actual speed of the depicted motion, you can make astoundingly large movements in a single frame, i.e. you could get away with making the swinging part of a sword strike in 1-3 frames, depending on your frame rate. For the golems ground pounds at 20 FPS though, i'd probably not go below 5 frames if one is to keep a sense of mass. I don't want to steal your thunder here, so i'm just gonna go ahead and fast-ify my own fist thing:

Also sprite sheet for clarity. This is obviously not perfect at all, but it serves the purpose; notice how the hand snaps from top to bottom in one frame, whereas raising the clearly obviously super massive fist again takes up most of the animation.

Also i love what you're doing with the golem, looks very nice! My only nitpick is that it could use some more delicious contrast. I know all too well that the smoother look is tempting, but trust me, you'll be surprised at how much nicer it looks with more contrast in the shading. :v (example from DeviantArt, notice the huge difference between light and shadow)
