Or you're someone who thinks that the 'oldies' are better, because the only people who are still remembered from that era today, are the ones who actually put in effort. There were bad artists around in the 60s/70s, but their contributions to music were so miniscule that they weren't worth remembering. You really think young teenagers in 2040 will be drooling over dubstep and Linkin Park? You think, because of artists like Miley Cyrus and Iggy Azalea, kids in the future will be moaning about how bad the music is in their time period and wish to be born in the 2000s so they can live in the same generation as twerking female rappers?

This.

Artists/bands like Jimi Hendrix, Nirvana, Bob marley or Bob Dylan never had a #1 billboards hit. Same way artists of today such as Royal blood, Bonobo, lapalux, disclosure, Bon Iver, Kings of convenience etcetc, might not get a top chart listing, but that is the music of this generation that people will remember fondly and look back with awe in the future.

no, those kids will like 90s music. has so much feel.

We don't have guitarists like Chuck Shuldiner, Randy Rhoads, Dave Mustaine, Jimi and Jimmy, and many many other guitarists that literally spent hours and hours and hours everyday perfecting their craft.

except maybe like Jack White or whatever, that's one crafty blues dude.

Same with vocals, guys like Dio, Rob Halford, Kai Kiske, Robert Plant, Thorsten Muller of Heaven's Gate and The list literally goes on.
No one has a voice of their own these days it seems.

Like someone said, millions of people making music in their bedrooms, Surely it all can't be unique and innovative. As not every artist is a serious artist, such as some chefs aren't no where near talented like others. some painters replicate others works (skilled, but it's not you)
Painters that literally paint Vases and Flowers all day. I would say for a lot of people Music is a hobby, Not a Serious Interest that you lose sleep to. A lot of these people learned an instrument in grade school and highschool and never did anything with it for a long time. An artist would have taken immediate seize of the opportunity to learn the sounds and try using them.

Sitting around in your room making electronic music or diddling away on guitar or whatever won't make you innovative. no, you gotta be put in places where shit is tight, it's this or nothing, some character building scenarios. Emotions from the cold truths that you know should be pouring from deep inside the soul unto your piece of art. These emotions could be excitement, anger, wonder, sadness, madness, and so on. Normal dudes aren't remembered. People that drove themselves into solitude for music are the ones that always have sounds on there minds, like chefs can't take their minds away from the kitchen it's all they can talk about. It's an addiction that you can't get rid of, Music.
