[Music] Hurt - Johnny Cash cover
Had some musical loose change jangling around in my pocket, so I thought I'd throw it here.

Clearly it's not got the greatest sound quality, so cnc and comments outside of that domain would be appreciated.
this is pretty delicious

there was nothing that really bothered me, aside from a few of those voice wobbles. they added to the song and felt so cash (eheh), but some of them felt a little forced/unnecessary

good stuff ele
beware
the goblin
Me being in love with the man in Black, i can say it's really fucking hard to match up to him lol.

Anywho, parts in there you did a fkn great job, like really, the beginning i thought you were joking at first, but then it got so good, at parts

You're rusty or something i guess, wobbles that don't fit and what not.

If anyone knows how this song is supposed to sound i'm one of them, listen to it Daily pretty much until certain things happened, Johnny cash is a big part of my Life and i'm glad to say you impressed me,

Anywho, saw the song and thought i'd pop by, last time i Heard the song was on my uncles funeral so thanks for the respark friend.

Try doing more singers in the same geanre, like Bruce springsteen for example maybie.

Kay, i'm out.
Jun 2, 2023 - .best. day. ever.
Yeah man, it was deffers shit for the first half of the verse or so - no excuses there, took me time to get into the groove. And yeah, you're right, I haven't recorded anything in two years, I just got the urge again to put something out. Next time I do something I'm going to really put in the effort.

Thanks for your cnc man.
Sounds pretty sweet man.

Like Marrez said a couple wobbles but nothing too noticeable. I found that at a few times you tried to emulate Johnny a bit too much and since people don't normally have such a gruff and low singing voice it didn't sound natural. Still a very nice cover overall, I'd like to hear more from you if you ever decide to make something.

i thought the wobble was a cool stylistic thing. crappy quality made it sound like a crappy old blues recording, which was cool.

my only complaint is that it was emotionally very flat. the guitar part did its part for increasing the emotional intensity but your voice pretty much sounded exactly the same the whole way through. it ended up feeling really tame at the end

in the original, the end is built up with instrumentation but since it's just you and your guitar you gotta kinda turn it up manually u know what im sayin

also i really really really love petal picker
Mostly everything already said by the other guys. I also think there could be a little more dynamic but I know how hard it is to perform a song alone (btw, isn't there a second guitar in the background?) and therefore it's really good.
I like the Johnny Cash version of this song. But the original by NIN is much better from my point of view. The dissonance in the first chord matches the feeling perfectly. And that's what I miss in the MiB version.

In the choruses I put in an extra guitar track, yeah (also put in another vocal track) - it doesn't add much to it because of the shitty production though. If I was playing on my acoustic (which currently has a broken A string) instead of my electric, then the guitar tracks wouldn't be so drowned out by the vocals. Why didn't I just mix the guitars to make it louder? I find it difficult to perform vocals and guitars separately, so the main track is just one take with me playing and singing at the same time (so I couldn't isolate the guitar or the voice in order to mix it properly). I know I do end up with a better end product when I do them separately though, so next time I'll just suck it up and do it that way.
