Do people really take offence though? I understand if somebody is harassing you in chat are saying like you should kill yourself or you need to gunned them down but just saying nigga in chat? Do people really get offended by this like I don't think anybody has ever been triggered by the word nigga by this most of the time they're just butt hurt and want to get back at the person

I think you're forgetting how much smaller the world is thanks to the internet. In a day and age where people get upset if you identify as your own gender you can bet your ass you'll find someone genuinely upset about the casual use of "nigga" between friends.
