Collections/Achievments?
Hi everyone, I've been dabbling with concept (key word, please know that this is just that... an idea in dev) to implement a number of new items/objects. (similar to blood vodka and toriburgers, etc)

Right now, I'm looking at possibly 3 classes of new objects:

Achievement/Honor Badges, Merit Badges, and Collectors Items.

Achievement Badges or Honor badges would be auto-awarded for completing certain tasks (ie, earning at least 1000qi, or getting a win streak of 10+ on an official server) and would not be non-tradeable and non-stackable.

Merit Badges
would be awarded manually by specific users and organizations (ie, Texture Mob Approval badges awarded by the mob, or Placement trophies for promo team events) and would contain both tradeable and non-tradeable items, as well as have stackable (like trophies) as well as non-stackable items.

Collection items would be a cacophany of rare and common items that could be purchased, traded, etc at the pleasure of a user. These would includ fan items (showing your likes and dislikes of colors, game modes, etc) and country designators (showing that you are player from [random country])

All of these items would be placed in a new section of the inventory, and have an optional 'activation' where a user can place the items in a "showcase", which would be displayed via a link under your avatar for other users to gawk and drool over. ;)

I'm open for comments on this, and I'd be interested in how many users would like to see something like this implemented in the game.

P.S. the image included is in no way a boycott suo movement promo ;P

meh, this adds too much B.S to the game. its kind of like Madden NFL games. they were good up until they added things like managing your team, practices, 7 different play modes, etc. nice idea though

btw, shouldn't this be in suggestions?
I love you
Honor Badges sounds good .Badging for qi would not make much sense but achieving certain multiples of 5/10 on higher belt official servers looks very good & promising.

Drawbacks:Official servers remain empty at certain timezones [Wushu, aikido&judo are the only ones I find filled when I log in].So it will be easier for some people than others to achieve a badge.*read farming for these too,one can do it in unsuspected way*.Maybe make some kind of check by before approving these, means more workload .

Merit Badges: Is it like awarding for winning some event organized by these orgs? Winning PT events should have some kind of badge. Will up the interest of a lot of people & less tc would be required to host such events.

Collection : Can't really underatnd what you meant by this. :|

BTW defeating an in game admins could be an ever going competition or something.Getting badge for defeating 5 ,it upgrades to 10 at multiples of 5.The number dosen't drop when their admin status has been removed. Will be really interesting to see if this is implemented. This could be something onlt skilled & active people could get their hands on.

Also not budging on transferring these items to keep up the novelty.

So you'd say less is more? I think that the general populous of gamers looks forward to additional content in a game (Team Fortress 2, for example). I understand there is a line between content that's just fluff, flash, and flair... but I think this type of content would add an additional (beneficial) gameplay element. A user is much more inclined to play the same 5 game types if he knows there is a trophy waiting for him at the end.... stereotypically, at least.

It's discussion of a possible gameplay element, so no, not really.

Contradict much? :P

Yes, achievement farming would be an issue that would have to be addressed if it was automatically awarded.

Yes, exactly. Some would be awarded by orgs (like PT awarding trophy items), others by specific users (ie, The Terminator- Merit Badge: Defeat Hanz0 ingame and earn his favor)

This would be an sprout-off of the toriburger, bloodvodka, etc series. You can buy 'fan' items (This user is a fan of [randomcolor]) for cheap, just to show your likes and dislikes. Other items could be use for association.

Examples (not these are much more of a rough draft than the first one posted):

RuTori- This user is a RuTori, a member of the Russian toribash community!
TTM Family- This user is a member of the Toribash Texture Mob.
Bromo-Team - This user is a Bromo Team member.
[Country]- This user is from [Country]
[Color] Lover- This user is a fan of [Color] (unlimited stock)

Yes, there would be stackable items... for instance...

Blacksmith: User knows their way around the forge (stackable, included with flame forge booster)
Too Hot to Handle: Redeemable for 4 blacksmith badges.
Supporter: Received for buying a promo TC or Booster pack. (stackable, included in the pack, maybe more in higher promo packs)
Frequent Flyer: Redeemable for 5 Supporter badges. (stackable)
Sponsor: Redeemable for 5 Frequent Flyer badges.(stackable)
Investor: Redeemable for 4 Sponsor badges. (stackable)

Also, no budging on transfers. If it's non-transferrable, it won't be transferred.

I would feel much better with the statistics page finished. It's a cool concept, but I think it wouldn't make me want to play toribash more than I already do. Just saying.
HURGH.

This make me think of extending this to something like having trophies to streak in all official servers.
This does interest me to start playing the game more again.Seeing I've a chance to get something not easily available.

I don't much care for the collector items and that stuff, but it would indeed be nice to have some kind of honor badges for high streaks and whatnot.
