How is this stupid? OK, I know all of you are gonna be at my throat once you read this post, but I must ask something: What the HELL is wrong with you people?
Weed IS a drug, and even if it does not cause addiction (which is a popular argument of pro-weed people nowadays, even though it is NOT proven (albeit not disproven, either)), it can and will have a negative effect on its user mentally.
And anyway, Ramenlover made this thread asking for help because his friend has a drug problem, and yet, the answers are mainly along the lines of "He's cool because he smokes pot, you aren't because you don't, get high already, you pussy". For example, let me quote Dalir: "You might as well be worried that he'll get addicted to crisps/food." Yeah, right; after all, we all know that your body ABSOLUTELY needs THC, right? And another quote: "On another note, start drinking/doing drugs..." Way to advocate alcohol/drug abuse.
You know, if it's getting wasted and/or high that makes someone cool, I don't think I wanna hang out with "cool" people.

Actually, alot of people here have good experience in this area. So getting help here isn't a bad idea. Weed, is 100% safe. It's much safer than alcohol. The only con of weed is that ignorant people will judge you for smoking it, as it is a 'drug'. No matter what evidence you shove in front of them, it won't matter because it's an illegal drug. Honestly though, nobody is forcing you to smoke it, if your friend wants to that's his choice.

im not about to go rat out my buddies who smoke it every now and then, but not even they are STUPID enough to say that weed is harmless or 100% safe...

if u want real advice, once or twice is not a bad thing. but if it becomes a regular thing and your only like 13/14 then go tell a school councellor.

I have friends that smoke it on a semi-regular basis and it doesnt effect them. IF it becomes a problem, or if he moves onto harder things, THEN take it further

It being illegal has nothing to do with the fact that it is harmful (although if you give it some thought, you might realize that it's illegal for a reason). Also, perhaps one of you should present some actual evidence instead of just repeating "But it's safe! And we have proof of that!" over and over.

Oh circular logic, how I love thee. You're saying that weed is dangerous because it's illegal - and that it's illegal because it's dangerous? That's like saying grass is green because it is green.

If you want to prove weed is worse than alcohol, provide some sources. Not something like your anti-drug classes or something, but some conclusive proof.

So I've got about three years worth of exp in this field, that makes me like, a level 99 in this skill and therefore my knowledge is absolute and you can't disagree with me.

This post is mainly for mythbusting.

Weed is not bad for you.

If you want to think otherwise, thats your choice. I'd prefer if you agreed with me, but some people are just too stubborn to take me as their leader, y'know?


Time for some backstory.

I used to be a chronic insomniac, anorexic, manic depressive with OCD.

Anorexia: Weed makes you enjoy food ten times over how much you enjoy it if sober, this is called the munchies, and it pretty much saved my life by stopping me from starving to death. k? k.

If you're one of the people that dont know what this is, read up then shut up. You don't know anything.
Basically weed elevates your mood to a ridiculous extent, where everything is happy. I now see basically everthing from a positive point of view. I've came extremely close to suicide in the past. Being a teenager was not easy, especially not with all those mental disorders which weed erased.
Once more, you could say weed saved my life.

Insomnia: I still suffer from this. Ever since I was about 8 I've had trouble falling asleep, and it's only gotten worse, UNTIL three years ago, when I started smoking weed. A bowl before bed lets me sleep with EASE.
If I hadnt came across weed I'd still be taking 2-7 HOURS to fall asleep each night. THAT drives you crazy. Weed doesn't.
Insomnia controlled.

OCD's a bit of a minor one, it's always been there, long story short weed made me care less about the position of every single object in the room etc.

But wait, were not those mental disorders Resetting was talking about?

Yeah. And weed fixed them.
Rather than make me crazy, weed made me sane.

And I smoke very, very frequently.

To those opposed: A big Fuck you.

I'm off to continue living a normal life.

I said _even if_ it isn't addictive, which isn't proven. And again, just because it isn't addictive, it is harmful.

It's just a diagram without any factual information presented, so it does not prove anything. By proof, I meant research results or something with equal credibility instead of a random diagram which might or might not be correct.


Resetting, in your case, we're talking about several mental disorders coexisting, and their effects reduced by the weed's own side effects. Right, being high all the time might help you cope with OCD, and a case of munchies does well against anorexia. But that does not mean that it's not harmful, just that in your specific case, you gain more by smoking than what you lose due to it.

My point is that it has only really done good things for me.
Over a three year base too, so most negatives would have shown up by now, if any.
It's even positively impacted my budget.
Alcohol costs me about £10 a night (not to mention the damage it does to my liver).
Weed costs me about £2 a night.

Positives everywhere.
Negatives nowhere.


Also, I havent smoked this week, after nearly every day use, and I feel no urge to smoke.
*Resetting used self experimentation and hit Addiction-theory for 80hp!*
