Correlated:
- To put or bring into causal, complementary, parallel, or reciprocal relation.
- To establish or demonstrate as having a correlation
With this said... Even the definition of correlation itself implies a reciprocal relationship linked to a causal event.
Plus I never said the sunspots were the cause. I actually said they were
byproducts [
here] of a sun entering a higher activity state - its pretty logical, isn't it?. So lets just stop with this, because its getting silly and filled with inutile and somewhat irrational preciosity.
Sunspots are a good way of checking the sun's activity, much like a doctor who checks the patient's tongue and tonsils for signs of illness. (this is, again, just a tiny example, a simple analogy)
