I remember the week I transitioned from market mod to smod... I wen't from generally helpful and fairly gracious local mod to ragey cock-end in no time flat. Had to take a step back for a second and sorta recompose myself so that I'd become helpful again.

Actually, that was just everyone else trolling ducky.

So, since I consider and treat everyone like complete idiots, I'm a great person? Give me some credit, CMon.

I think this happens regardless. Look at any high school ever. Most of the time they're trying to force the student body together to try and improve social lives. Does it work? Sometimes, but you hear about the petty cliques and stuff as much as you hear about the success stories.

Anyway, each tactic has an upside and a downside. I think it's important to find a medium. Working against elitism is a good thing but at the same time you have to eventually let people sort it amongst themselves. Treating everyone with kid gloves doesn't help anything- at the first sign of controversy, coddled users are going to kick out.

But I hear what you're saying, because this community turning into the wild wild west will be its downfall.

You'll always find people like this in life, or any other community like this one for that matter. Where people are equal, there are always a bunch of misfits trying to go above everyone else. When presented with an opportunity that benefits oneself, the person would want to take it, right? Say if there's a new kid at school that came from some far off country, struggling to find companionship and acceptance, to only get picked on by his so called "peers", who make fun of him just because he/she is from another part of the world, lame right? People like this take the smallest "flaws" that another person has, and uses it against them so they can look cool, and be socially accepted.

YEah there are six pages of cnvo that I'm not going through jus to catch up so I'm just going to say my piece in responce to the 1st post.

I get tired of hearing the so called 'elite' players complaining about 'noobs'. As a blue belt I sit there and wonder why the hell these people show their face (more like their ass) in a social setting at all. I seems as if they come to the largest group newbies they can just to talk down to them and it spoils them. Not all of them, but I will see a few of the players a few weeks later acting totally inapropriate. With those two being aturally predispositioned to being jackasses it ruins the moral of that generation because before you hit black belt your social community is much more limited. So I just sit in the server and watch how this dickhead talks about how he's 5th Dan and how everyone is doing noob moves and how everyone is so pathetic for playing this game and I just can't help but wonder: Why the hell are you playing the same orange belt that you have had fo the last two months? I can only assume that it is because they are terrible and impatient players that do not understand the real point in being apart of this game and community. But that is only specualtation, I can't tell if they are any good or not because I thrash their ass at Aikido, then they call me a nob as well and then run away.
