Maybe, just maybe, you should hate windows for pretty much making everyone make games that run only on windows?

when the market has been monopolized, you need to blame the monopoly... In this case: Microsoft

But I like monopoly :<

Terrible joke.

And Jan, that's possibly the reason why most people prefer Windows. You see, back then, Windows was undoubtedly the best OS for the typcal consumer. Mainly because it was easy to use. Also Apple sucked hard.

Linux, however, was still basically a dev project of sorts, without a lot of recognition besides from the Uber geeks. Plus with its complexity compared to Windows, it was VERY unattractive. Though these days it's becoming a lot more novice-friendly.

Ah, I still remember a time where you could go to the store and buy games for Linux. Good times.

And I need to stop putting all these extra line spacings here. I wish I could use tab :c
i liek turtelz xd
I recently switched to Ubuntu. I am comfortable on a PC, but Im not exactly a pro or anything, and honestly so far I love it. Before this I recently switched from XP to windows 7 after years of using XP, and 7 just felt off to me, plus my computer (which is only a year old and has some decentish hardware in it) ran a tad on the slow side. With Ubuntu though I seem to get better performance, plus I dont need an anti virus, so woohoo

I love the philosophy and ideals behind Linux, and I love synaptic. It sucks I might not be able to run after effects any more, but eh, Im sure with enough work I could get it up (doubt WINE would run that) and honestly I will be fine without it.

So ye, Linux all the way. It is free, just as good, if not far better, than windows, and with Ubuntu you don't even have to know EXACTLY how to do EVERYTHING in a command prompt because they have GUI versions. Not to mention that it will only get better with time, and that every bit of progress is shared freely.

windows vs linux threads, god im tired of them :/
There is specific choises, there isn't what's best and what's suck balls.

Windows is generally multimedia management, comuter gaming, etc
Linux is for maximum safety web browsing, Dedicated Server hosting, maximum anti virus security etc.

Linux is for maximum safety web browsing, Dedicated Server hosting, maximum anti virus security, a cooler looking desktop that is more intuitive and versatile, a host of more supportive communities, better PC performance and even a good deal of free online multiplayer games etc...
