It's really funny how people are so against raising taxes. I know why they don't like it, but they really need to look into past history.

Ronald Reagan raised taxes 8 times, part of the reason why the economy was super stable under him.

Bill Clinton raised taxes and gave U.S a surplus

George Bush cut taxes, and gave the U.S a recession

Barack HUSSEIN!(republicans do this all the time, it's annoying huh?) Obama isn't raising taxes enough, especially on large businesses, and progress is slow.

Taxes pay for things and make a country work, stop bitching and moaning about paying taxes, and bitching and moaning as to why the country has gone broke.

Depends really.
It depends on your individual situation. I myself look at the parties in terms of the economic consequences of their policies and promises, this mining tax has good and bad economic points which I believe weigh mostly in the good of our economy.

Sorry y'all, but this thread's going nowhere fast. There can only be so much of 'oh no julia gillard is our (place of power) now' until it get repetitive. Closing for now, sorry for any inconvenience, but there's not much to discuss anymore.
