Progressive Metal is pretty insane... This is the second longest song that I ever saw in my entire life! The Longest one is "6 Degrees Of Inner Turbulence", also by Dream Theater. Pay attention to the length : 42:04 min!!
But a song that Everyone should listen is the album's Title song "Octavarium - 24:00 min" by Dream Theater.
It is also disputed because this album is often considered less progressive than the other albums of the group. However, the presence of the key title Octavarium, sometimes raised to the rank of better composition of the group by the fans, reminds that the group does not forget its progressive roots. Indeed, we can hear it a whole introduction of Jordan Rudess, the musical capacities of John Petrucci, John Myung and the big lines of Mike Portnoy's battery, what advances the musicians during a big part of the piece. The progressive reached then its peak during numerous 5/4, or the other asymmetric measures.
This is the most EPIC song I ever Heard!! I cry everytime I hear this song in entire length. You must NEVER stop the song before It ends!! Be sure you have 24:00 minutes left ^^ Listen to the entire song once a day until you die and you will be serene.
Tip: Go in your Room, close the light and the windows to be in a perfect darkness, turn the volume on, lie down on your bed, close your eyes and concentrate on the Intro. The feeling is awesome!
