I reinstalled windows and some of my application requires d3dx9_xx.dll.
So I got it from dll-files.net
I also installed directx 9.
But some of my applications crashed like left 4 dead 2.
I launch the game and after choosing single player, it says left 4 dead 2 has stopped working.

It also happens to my Fallout 3.I play it and when I talk with people or go into other places.It will crash. Fallout 3 has stopped working.

Any solutions for this?
Oh and also Mafia 2 on my pc gets a black screen after the first screen

Fear not I have had the same issues.

because you reinstalled your Os you lost all your drivers, I would recommend you look at this program, it will tell you what drivers you have, you will have to manually find and install them download this its free and its good if you know where too look drivers.

This one on the other hand you need to pay for, it should download the files for you.

Also, try your Manufacturers website, they may have the files you are looking for.

shouldve asked in essence doom. i know lots about computers. and i believe its indeed just a matter of updating drivers.

Keep in mind that all those games also need Microsof Visual C++ redistributable 2008 package.
Among the driver issue, if u are gaming, its always better to have latest graphic drivers, DirectX, C++ package and even PhysX, that way u are ''good'' to go wild playing :P
