[Problem] two cursors at the same time
So I bought an Acer Aspire 5742G laptop.
I plugged in my drawing tablet and installed the driver.

Then I opened Photoshop with my tablet-pen and noticed,
that there were two flickering cursors on my screen at the same time.

They were ~2 inches away from each other and everytime I moved
the cursor with the pen or touchpad on my laptop, both cursors
moved along the exact same path.

Now that's not the big problem. The big problem is, that when I try do
draw something with the pen, it draws two big lines instead of one
normal line.
So basically my tablet just got useless...

I re-installed Photoshop and the tablet driver but nothing changed.
I tried to deactivate the touchpad, but I am not able to do that.

Do you guys have any ideas to help me out?

Not able to deactive touchpad?

There should be a shortcut for it on your keyboard (mine is FN+F9)

I've tried that too, but the two cursors remain.
Photoshop doesn't even recognize the tablet pressure.

I'll withhold from my usual "Acer lololololol" & instead query OS, tablet make/model etc

That sorta info usually helps ;)

;^D

OS is Windows 7

Tablet is Aiptek Hyperpen 12000U (It works like a charm with my PC which's OS is Win XP)

I already sent an email with the exact "malfunction details" to the Aiptek support,
but eh its weekend...

I guess its going to be some sort of driver shit. Maybe the driver is too old for Win 7.

They have a driver with Windows 7 support here, but it's only 32 bit & if it's anything like my tablet the config tools for it wont work if you're running a 64 bit OS.

Thank you for the driver. It worked quite well.
At least with gimp it works perfectly.

The only solution to get it working in Photoshop would be buying a new Wacom tablet, with new wacom drivers.
Unfortunately I don't have gold-ingots laying around here so that wont be a solution.

Thanks adobe. :/

Yeah GIMP's a lot more accepting when it comes to hardware, and since it's got it's own config tools for pressure etc it's not so bad having the driver one not working. The only issue I have with GIMP & tabs is if you start drawing with the mouse or tab it expects you to continue using that one device so pressure stuff often decides not to work.

Adobe however only expect professionals to use their software, and so only support certain manufacturers. Oddly enough Trust & Genius stuff (read as: cheap shit) were fully supported, they might not be in the latest versions (I ditched PS long ago) but they certainly used to be.

If you switch from pen to mouse, gimp switches too, but
that's not worth mentioning as a problem.

I believe the only supported brands are HP/Wacom/Intuos for CS5.
Trust? Seriously? Its not cheap shit. Its cheapest supershit!

Oh and what I recognized is that GIMP's smudge tool doesn't slow down
the computer. Not even on big sizes like 300+ px.

Have you tried adobe's support line or forums yet? Idk if they even have forums over there, but I know they have support lines.
