You can compare fox news and CNN with democratic and republican sites on the internet. It's simply the same thing. Things on and off the internet can not necessarily be biased and not necessarily wrong. And morality depends on one's upbringing, age, religion or non, and simply, one's built in sense of morality.
Everyone gets involved with crime at some point or another, but yes it is a pretty bad thing to get involved with it if not only for the legal implifications, but the internet isn't going to push someone toward that...

Everyone watches porn, I've thought of both sides of the argument and can see nothing. Porn is great and sex is completely natural. Porn is also educational.
You obviously don't want your 8 year old looking up porn. If you want to learn about porn, go to a public school and learn it properly.
They can't really get other youths involved in meeting someone who could put them at risk unless they themselves are some sort of serial-killing rapist bent on dominating the world and ruling with an iron fist.
The benefits as far as I can see mostly centre around 'good laugh.' The internet is a glorious thing introducing you to many different views and cultures and videos of two lesbians eating each other's semi-digested shit out of a cup.
Someone who had never been on the internet proper won't have the "good laugh" attitude, and will trust everything on the internet, whereas someone else would take it all with a grain of salt
For me the benefits are incredibly outweighing the bad shit you could get (for me that goes as far as links to some messed up porn.)
I'd say it depends on what kind of person would be using it.

A different opinion read on a site is different to an opinion drilled into you all day everyday by the media, whether it's "buy this" or "act like this" or "this is what happened." The view of people on the internet aren't anywhere near as forced and repeated, different views are presented repeatedly by different people, like in threads like these; some believe too much freedom is given, others don't care, etc. and in places like this you can give your own opinions and debate or learn something new, or change your mind. With a news show, they tell you what benefits them (stories which help them in their ratings system or advertisements that pay them) and generally whatever will make them the most money, completely different from the millions of genuinely honest opinions given which you can consider, take a look at the other sides of the argument and decide for yourself. People put so much stock into what newspapers and shows tell you and generally consider it 100% truth, despite the known fact that they (especially newspapers and magazines) twist the stories, sometimes beyond recognition to whatever sounds more interesting, which is then considered the complete honest truth.

Bull fucking shit. As long as kids aren't dumbasses they should be able to do whatever the hell they want on the web. It takes two brain cells to tell if a site is legit and 3 brain cells to run an antivirus scan, and a whopping 4 brain cells to know who you're talking to and not get molested! It's so hard!

Not all parents have the knowledge of how to block unsafe websites
There are many people trying to make the internet safer - A lot more are trying to make it more dangerous
Not everybody on sites such as facebook is gonna get kidnapped, don't meet people you don't know - simple as that.
Has anybody looked at the aspect of kids causing trouble on the internet, you've all been talking about the trouble that kids get into, but what about when the kids are creating the problem, like if they were to commit GBH against somebody there would be nothing to stop them filming it and showing it all over the world.
