Like Gorman said, if they're not online, they're probably watching TV.
Better to be on the internet than watching TV.
Did you know you use less of your brain while watching TV that you do sleeping?
At least online you partake is some form of social activity, and as has been said before many times, the amount of information online is practically endless.
I'd much rather my kid was online than sat in front of a TV watching endless episodes of Scooby Doo, thanks.
I'd also prefer my kids to indoors depending on where I live. If we grew up in a rough area, who knows who they might socialize with when they're out the house? The internet is a lot safer than some parts of the world where kids may grow up in.
