Secret Santa 2024
I know I might get a little hate for this, but i'm not really a fan of apple, mainly because they released new products right when the last one became popular. But, however, he was a genius and will be missed. I really don't know if apple will be able to keep up their sales without the visionary insight Steve had.
<Bubbyzane> As a 16 year old, Canadian, cKy fan, and a gamer, I can honestly say I know the exact definition of cool.

If only Steve had not cancelled all of Apple's charity programs, then maybe the donations would have cured cancer by now hey? ;)

Also sidenote: Steve does not come up with the ideas, he merely aggregates and prunes them. He is not an ideas-man, he is a manager and salesman...

ITT: Many people confused as to what Steve did.

I never liked Apple, never will. Steve Jobs was a great person, and a true visionary, but he just wasn't my kind of "tech" man. That said, he was a caring man, and a loving father, the world will miss him. I'm sure Apple will be fine without him, and there will always be plenty of people that will stick with Apple. For me, no, Bill Gates is my boy. Steve was really just the spokes person. I don't believe if he did a lot of the inventing or creating, but just pushed the items through.

Why would a caring man cancel all of Apple's charity programs and not donate any money to charity, despite being one of the richest men in the world?

That's true, I should have been more specific. I meant he was caring to his family. And I didn't really want to say it, but that's why I think Bill Gates is a much better person. Considering how much he anonymously donates from his salary.
You don't need to be a fan of Apple to like a genius.
Gorman, I see what you're saying but Steve actually did come up with a lot of ideas for Apple and maintained them. He discussed ideas with the other founders of Apple on what they can do to make a product 'great'.

Oh? From where I sit it looks like he fucked Woz then became the frontman and just the team manager more or less.

Please post some actual examples of his 'genius'. He was a good showman and manager but I would not really call that genius...

I pretty much completely agree with Gorman's view that Apple will either have another larger-than-life figurehead or crash and burn (it might just be initial speculative panic but Apple stocks are already showing this).

Although I have a couple of reservations about denying his genius. He was one of the pioneers of modern day computing and even if that can be denied he made technology more appealing to more people, and since he had an almost complete monopoly on this, sold it for a high price. That is very clever marketing in my opinion.

Isn't that a surprise?

Gorman since when have you come up with examples or evidence to back up your theories. Don't give me rubbish.
It's so sad that it died, R.I.P Steve Jobs.

But imo he wasn't a wonderful person in my life as i have never owned any apple products nor do i think that apples products were amazing. Mainly due to their High-as-fuck prices.

Apple probably will publish iphone 5 in the future and then pretty quickly start a rough fall. They might do something really courage and risky, such as releasing an iClock, basically a normal clock with just a apple logo and a very tiny touch screen.
