Firstly, I though that idea to have every official clan on the map would be extra nice. But, as I run the numbers, seeing that we are having +50 clans (around 95 is the sum) this thing would became a leviathan of disaster! :] So, having smaller number of clans participating is plain and simple: only way this would ever work. Not to mention that the map would be behemoth, even when I considered to make smaller parts connected with portals. (eh, that damn Rift :P)

Now, about how is this 'played'. Thing is simple: We have a limited number of open spots, enough to populate the world with the clan states. They get 1 to 3 colored territories, depending on their rank on the ToriClan page. Every clan member that is participating gets the colored flag and the new status under his avatar called: Clan Wealth.

Then the event starts. And clans do what they always do. Linger on forum or they play ingame etc. The thing is nothing really happens until one of these clans start to expand his territory and get more ToriClan points and wealth. There is no income in points until war starts! War is starting economies and keeps them going, what can I say.. :P

Some clan will attack some another clan in regular Clan War and then the whole thing will start. We all know how the CWs are conducted. I'll just explain the process in this event:

One clan initiate a CW against another clan that is positioned anywhere on map. [So you are not limited by your place on the map, you don't have to walk respecting boundaries. You can jump from your state and attack any other state.]

Then 3 things can happen:

1. Clans fight, attacker won the fight and he gets that territory and 3 ToriClan points, losing clan lose his territory and 1 ToriClan point (this gets updated on the ToriClan page)

2. Clan fights, attacker lose. The winner gets 2 ToriClan points but he doesn't get any territory. The losing clan lose one territory in that way that it become the neutral territory, and they lose 1 ToriClan point.

3. The defending clan doesn't want to have CW with the attacking clan. In that case, attacking clan is putting one token on the territory that is in possession of the clan they attacked. Now the ToriClan income from that territory will go to the attacking clan, as long the defenders are not wanting to CW with them.

At the end of every 2 weeks or 1 month (that is still in discussion) you get 1 ToriClan point for every territory you own.

Time progress for few months. At the end of this event, the one (or 2, 3...) clans that have the most territories will get some prize. Probably some big thing, like user-titles image or something, idk, that is also in discussion.

If the map isn't big enough for unofficial clans, why not make it one official map and one unofficial map? First unofficial clan to control 90% or more of their map gets to be official?
Dose is dead.
No. There is no reason for making a map for the unofficial clans. That would kind of shoot down the purpose of becoming official.
I sell TC and I give loans. PM me for info.

<Muze> Id like to say, I don't apologize, I'm a tough guy in irl and I will be a tough guy in a video game. Ok that's it.

only half of the clans were actually active during Bojan's previous event because most of you are like:

" WOW KEWL!!11 WE WILL JOIN N 4 SHURR!!! GET YOURSELF READY TO GET YOUR ASSES KICKED BY *another clan*!!!11 "

and whole this bravado/entusiasm/activity dissapear right after event just started.

if you applied for event make sure you can actually take active part on this event..

and why no unofficial clans: if even official clans are like that, what can you expect from unofficial clan? it can dissaper one day after it was formed. And please keep in mind that whole that map and other art work is done by hand and it takes time and effort. Bojan do it without any assistance. So let's try to be reasonable okay? ; )

Which past event are you referring to?

Those went quite ok, considering the level of complexity they had.

I find that in recent times some strange apathy fell over most of the clans, in that way that some individual members are always ready to participate but they find hard time to animate their fellow clan members.
It seams that compact and well organized clans with more then 4 ppl ready to sacrifice some of their free time to compete always make good impression in these events, showing not just skill but also something that can only be described as: friendly atmosphere, enthusiasm and will.

And yes, many ppl jump right into fry seeing some new event promising to ''kick some asses!'' while they didn't even read the complete event description, and then they either don't show up at all or as days pass they just forget or get lazy, or something else, and they ditch-out.

This is somewhat understandable for events that runs in pre-set time (events where players must get online in specific time), but totally incomprehensible for events that runs on loose time table and by agreement of two or more players.

Good example of this behavior is this event: http://forum.toribash.com/showthread.php?t=314091

where many clans reserved the post entering it, but only 1 or 2 clans are actually working on something, while the event ending on Saturday this week and not one submission was given, and its a question will it ever be.

Year or two ago, this was unthinkable, as I remember, every art design event had many ppl posting their works and it was very tight competition.
As we know, even when some old names left us, some new ones come and replace them over time, but it seams this is not the case anymore. Less and less ppl are engaged in the community in 'correct way'.
We can discuss what is the 'correct way' for 100 pages but it would be pointless, since I have one point of view on it and every other person has something different, and we would just lose ourselves in the large discussion in a place where this discussion doesn't belong.

I'll just say that my vision of the correct engagement in this community is not a quest to became mod or admin (which many see as the ultimate goal), but to give something of yourself to the community in that way that it will engage ppl in some kind of gathering where the ppl of same interest would have some fun, interact and play, exchanging their culture, if I can say in that way.

I love making events, and yes I love making imaginary worlds where we can, for few hours while we play these events, be something else, playing the roles, acting, and in the same time play Toribash. I love showmanship, making some ordinary things to look extraordinary. And I love when ppl after the event say: Hey, this was fun, what will we do next?

For that I'm ready to spend every minute, hour, day, of my free time.

But, sadly, as much I hope for this kind of events, general apathy is just too strong to make ppl to engage in them. I can't understand that ppl are not interested to win some TC, Items and points for their clans that we are giving them free, while just asking from them is to have fun while they collect them.
That's like... Idk... Can someone explain it to me? Maybe I'm in some kind of delusions?
Personally i think this is awesome
as long as i dont have to get online at a specific time and i can organize wars when i get online with other clans im fine with it.
Also the above is tl;dr
<Pab10> i knew it
<Pab10> im a wizard
I read it, and let me say I do not know if anybody else in this community is as involved, hard-working, or selfless as 8OJ4N. Keep up the good work sir.
