People play games to travel to another world and experience a new dimension where emotions and actions are diferent. You dont play for fun, you play to make yourself free and its that feeling of freedom you call fun.
For example i love playing Final fantasy 9, i have done the game over 4 times and i would to it again not because it is fun, because the experiences i get from that game i cant get in real life and therefore i have fun which is one of the consequences.
Think like this, you dont ask a girl on a date because you want to have fun, its because you like her.
Same goes for video games, you dont play them to have fun, you play them to experience something new.
If you played video games for fun then you would feel happy playing whatever game in the world .

I have lost my addiction of video games.
I do play to kill some time, thus i do feel dissapoint on how gaming world has become.
You will rarely find polite games since almost every day the loser will complain and complain and complain and always blame his team for his stupid actions.
Also most of the times I go and play multiplayer games with my friends.

It entertains me.
I like the hamster in a wheel relation. Doing this has no purpose, no end goal, no gain you can think of to your body or mind and in the end is completely pointless. If it has one, it's certainly not the reason you do it. But you kind of feel like you're accomplishing something. Even though you're not.

True, playing a video game doesn't really "add" to your real life (unless your an MLG, which is cool).
But, I don't play games to add something to my life, or escape some reality. The truth is, I have a pretty good life right now. I ace all my classes, am succesfull in sports, and have good friends. I just play games to have fun, good old pure fun.
Before I play video games, though, I make sure everything else is good. I make sure that I accomplish what I am supposed to that day before I start to play. Still, I understand why some people use it as an escape from reality; not everyone is as lucky as me.
