game is UN DE VE LO PED
physics engine needs to be fixed
many bugs (that remained unfixed from all versions) needs to be fixed
last but not least forum mods needs to be replaced with professionals and not like now 2 or 3 serious guys and dozen of pimpleass children who are making they own rules on the go
i would love that EA or any other competent party buys toribash because it has potential and i would pay for good game like this

You really don't know what you're talking about.
[02:19] <Dr_Strangelove> nearly 3 hours of nobody saying a word
[02:19] * Tamer0 is now known as TamerAfk
[02:19] <Dr_Strangelove> gg toribash
[02:19] <+hampa> gg
No, you don't.

Physics engine needs to b.... what?
I never saw someone winning online because the "physics engine needs to be fixed". Everything is (almost) perfect, at least for me.

I can't see "bugs" on toribash, only "shortcuts" to a dismember/fracture (because, serious, that's the only thing I can see that have "bugs"), and it makes the game more technical: If you know where to hit, you have more chances to be the winner.

Forum is full of good moderators. The problem here are the members who have problems with these guys. And, the most important is the "in-game" part, forum don't change the gameplay.

And oh, EA? Really?
I'm pretty sure that Nabi made an exceptional game, and have all that's necessary to improve it.

All that we need is a mod with balanced gamerules (such as dmthreshold - gravity - dojo), a little change on forces/relaxes speed/size and done, we have an E-Sports worthy game.

Yeah, cause ea forums are managed so much better...The game does have only few bugs, and most of them don't distort the beauty of the game
those few bugs are killing gameplay, i cant even count how many times i found myself trying to change mod and it stays on same mod.
and if you are playing many alternative mods like myself and hosting server like "random mods" i lose people and stay alone in room because of that bug.
and talking about physics engine, how realistic is dismembered foot hit floor, starts spinning faster and faster and eventually fly in sky.
ok maybe i was harsh on physics because such things don't affect gameplay, they just look stupid but game overall need polish and so much needed GRAPHICS USER INTERFACE
anti ragequitting system is MUST because noone dont want to wait in queue and got rage quitted last frame just because you are better
that makes me say fuck this game and rage quit as well
and i so want 2 vs 2 mode
and i must say, 3.94 ocasionally freezes and crash, 3.91 never crashed on me

That is because you failed to provide proper parameters for the /set command, not because the program is glitched.

Yes they do. Literally everything you do in toribash is governed by the rules of the physics engine. It's the single determining factor in whether your arm moves there, or there. And toribash does have numerous physics issues, shoddy collision detection means that there are a bajillion bugs involving sudden millions of damage dealt, limbs phasing through other limbs at high speeds, etc. etc.
It also has conceptual issues, grabbing still needs major fixes and tori's muscle strength as well as ranges of motion are both convoluted and unrealistic.

It already has a graphics user interface. It's the game menu. It's the game rules. It's the matchmaking and mod selection window. It's the multiplayer server list. The GUI isn't a problem at all.
Of course, it would be useful to have a tutorial set up for navigating it for beginners, but that's not a huge deal either, it's easy enough to explore.
The incentive not to ragequit is that you won't get qi if you do. And if you ragequit during a duel, it can be considered a scam and can be reported.
People already lag enough with simple 1v1s, very few users could actually handle a 2v2 and it would also increase strain on the servers. The number of potential and actual collisions is just too high.

By the way, there actually is a suggestions board. This thread isn't a substitute for it.

Edit: lulz at people bandwagoning and pretending there are no physics issues.

Hey look more than two lines.
yup, I'd love EA to buy the toribash IP and see how far they drive it into the ground

Maybe remake it as an FPS.

oh i know

Hats.

problem with Toribash as a spectator sport is its really slow. Have you ever seen chess tournaments on TV?

And as far as I see it, we're talking about E-sports worthynesss, not about how much the Physics engine sucks. (Well, except those couple posts..)

It also has conceptual issues, grabbing still needs major fixes and tori's muscle strength as well as ranges of motion are both convoluted and unrealistic. True, but Toribash isn't really trying to be the most realistic fighting game. And still we're going off topic

No game breaking issues == No issues

This topic is slowly drifting farther and farther away from original topic.

So, we're pretty much agreeing that player base or lack of it is the biggest problem. (mkay, the gameplay is also bit boring to watch, but so is <insert-your-favorite-sport-here>...)
< Larfen> also my replay thread has more views than the rules thread \o/

...This probably explains most problems in this community.
