A relationship requires two people. I can't have a relationship with a ghost that lives in my house, because ghosts aren't real. To say it's a relationship is to - again - be faithful in the existence of God, which is the basis of the religion. "I have faith that God exists" <- they are religious.
On the basis of war, I pretty much agree with that. While religion was what pushed them to do it, it's still their own fault and still the result of their own stupidity.

It is the basis of religion, yes. But faith is not totally religion. Hydrogen is the basis of water, yes? Water is necessary for life, correct? So if we drink hydrogen, we would have the same effect as if we drank water? No. We would die.
How can you prove God doesn't exist? Lack of proof does not mean nonexistance. People thought Galileo was crazy when he said we werent the center of the universe. They said Wegner was insane with the continental drift theory. And Pythagoras was a moron for saying the earth was round! Why? Because they saw no proof. Eventually, proof was found. But also, faith IS believing when there is little to no proof. I hate to turn this into a religious debate, but yeah.
Also, I could write a book saying "we should bomb so-and-so", now would it be MY fault if that happened? Did I actually bomb the place? No. So the writers of a book are simply expressing themselves whereas the leaders actually partake and initiate the war.
