Building a PC
Hey I decided to build a PC and I have roughly just under £400 to build one with.
So here's what I've picked from my budget.

I know most of you out there have much more experience in building PC's and I wanted some advice on what I've chosen, I'll glady change any parts for other parts you think may work better.

I just want a decent PC that can run most games and handle it self well in 3D Applications such as 3DS Max and Maya. I'm not very fussed about how loud it is and I know I have yet to get a PSU and a Disc Drive x)

Thanks in Advance
well.. i have a phenom II x4 965 and a very comparible gtx 465 setup with 4gb of ram. i can tell you that your choices are very good for mid range gaming performance. it depends on what resolution you plan to be gaming on. if you plan on gaming in 1080p then a 1gb 6850 will be just fine for high/max settings. games like metro2033 or crysis 2 with the dx11/ high res texture patches won't have optimal performance on 1080p but anything else you throw at it should work just fine.

if you don't plan on overclocking a 500w to 550w psu will work just fine. i suggest getting a good psu from a company like corsair though and not buying a cheaper one.

your system with stock fans/heatsink wont be very loud either. the gpu is the only thing you should be able to hear, though getting a videocard with an aftermarket cooler pre installed should reduce the noise levels. (twin frozr, or other multi fan coolers)
You don't say?
Thanks
I just want to be able to play games on medium and up, I was thinking is it worth getting another HardDrive or just having one big one :l
a 500gb hdd will be plenty unless you plan on downloading a lot of big files, to me it wouldn't be worth changing from a caviar black to another brand just to get more space. you can always get another one later on also

the caviar black series has better performance than most other regular hdd's

I'd suggest swapping the HDD out for a Crucial M SSD (they are under $1/gb), if you don't need the space too badly. If you only game or have portable HDD or whatever then it will be much better.
