Some catholics may be extreme to the point of saying you're going to hell for any particular reason, just like some others may not. And that, obviously, applies to every other religion and religious people.
That's why, when it comes to discussing about a particular religion, I prefer to analyze that religion itself, rather than the people who follow it. My point is that we can't generalize. Saying a religion is bad because of what some of its followers do is just wrong, from my point of view.
