Stricter than what? Regular rape?
What's this got to do with women's freedom?
In western countries there's an extremely high volume of false rape accusations, so this seems ridiculous to any westerner.
Not sure the situation in India, it seems like women there are afraid to report it because they don't want to have to deal with the situation, they just want to pretend it never happened.
Seems like that is a cultural problem rather than a legal process problem if people just allow themselves to be raped and not report it.
I don't really see how this is a discussion at all really.
Pretty much anybody who comes along and says something like "nah, the laws are fine as is," will pretty much get verbal backlash regardless of how rational they may present it.
As I'm almost certain people will misconstrue such an argument, dumbed down, as "rape is good hurr durr."
So I'm predicting a landslide support for the "rape laws need to be changed" side.

Thread died with Gorman.
Rape is bad, punishment for it should be amplified I guess. (as long as it isn't some shit rule like "Anyone can be found guilty of rape and executed at will of the alleged victim", because that goes from 'help! [insert race] woman in trouble!' to 'a woman being accused of rape means she can basically kill anyone she wants because she is a woman'".
That's really meta yo.
In all seriousness, we could make this same cynical prediction about any topic. That doesn't make them any less important. Rape is a problem that is rampant in many parts of the world, why not discuss it?
So let's not make these assumptions and let the discussion play out as it may.
Not necessarily, as there can be a much more expanded discussion outside the OP's few questions.
I'll propose one.
Is the use of anti-rape devices justified? In what situations/countries?

Anti-rape devices are, put bluntly, devices placed inside of a woman's vagina that will mutilate an intruding appendage, in case of rape.
