Your simile is very decent. 9.5/10

You’ve been taught all your life that truth is easy to hide. You'll face your judgment another day and suffer eternally.
Timee immediately proves to be pretty awesome.

Third song on this page. Thought I'd share.

What I've been working on is a dynamic realtime chat system, what I'm writing in Erlang. So essentially it should make it so that anyone in the world can talk to anyone just by sharing a link. Part of the idea is divide conversation from personal accounts - so there isn't such a barrier to beginning a conversation. Additionally I've come up with a fairly solid UI for chats with multiple users with a focus more on who you're immediately talking to rather than just a stream of messages. Anyway - if you're wondering why I haven't been active lately - it'd be that + work.

I can probably toss the stuff I built for toribash up / put finishing touches on them this weekend as well. So that'd be solid. And again - I'd like to get us applied and such this weekend.

I think I only slept like 20 minutes yesterday :/
Bleh.
Ugh

Intellectual stimulation is one of the secondary, yet still important, things that have spurned me to join your clan. I primarily just want to be part of a "family" and feel valued. Kinda cloying, i know, but it is what it is. But enough about me for now.

Anyways, time travel eh? I'm quite familiar with the subject. Well, here's something about me again. My ex-girlfriend in high school (who is now one of my bestest friends) and I once made a paper on the cosmic strings theory of time travel. It's one of my favorite academic outputs.

My two cents on the subject would be that I think time travel is a luxury that the current status quo is not yet prepared for. It would lead to pandemonium at the very least if even the lowest group in the social hierarchy would have the capability to change the things they've done in the past. The butterfly effect is too great a factor to leave out in standardizing and commodifying time travel imho.

Well, at least in terms of traveling to the past, we know we're safe, as anything that the traveler would do would have already happened. Unless there's the multiverse theory, where he can do whatever he wants to the universe and the one we're in is still safe. The future, however, is a problem, should the traveler offend someone, create a war, or upset some sort of status quo that is different in our time.

tl;dr: I agree.
All it takes is one bad day to reduce the sanest man alive to lunacy. That’'s how far the world is from where I am. Just one bad day.
Exactly. Future consequences due to historical revisionism are a big risk when time travelling. Even dropping a penny at the wrong time in the wrong place might lead to a massive civil war 20 years later on the same spot that the penny fell on. These type of things are the sort of incalculable risks that makes time travel all the more ... AWESOME!

But what if you were to time travel to the past in order to stop your past self from time traveling in the future, which is basically the present? Wouldn't that lead to the stereotypical causality loop?

Anthropic bias principle. We exist because of certain causality loops, and we wouldn't be around if they did not happen that way (assuming they exist in the first place). Multiverse theory is interesting, but remains outside of the realm of the observable, at least for now.

Touché. Causality loops that have led to our existence are indescribably important, which makes time travelling to the past and changing something all the more dangerous, because it might disrupt some of these important causality loops. But don't causality loops also adapt to changes made intrinsically, or are they also subject to the butterfly effect regardless of which part the change was made in?

The multiverse theory is really nice. It makes me wonder what everything looks like in other universes. Maybe in a parallel universe, Oblivion is an official clan in Bashtori that is controlled and operated by extremely-evolved floating humanoids with knife guns for fingers and emoticons for faces.

Ok, first of all Kvey, *takes up the role of a caring friend* why do you not take responsibility for your daily life and not sleep? I thought last time we talked you said quite the opposite.

"[4/8/2013 2:09:46 PM] Kvey: I probably should be responsible and be asleep right now
[4/8/2013 2:09:48 PM] Kvey: :/" - Skype

And I said :

"[4/8/2013 2:09:56 PM] TheMpk: Well please do so
[4/8/2013 2:10:04 PM] TheMpk: We need you alive
[4/8/2013 2:10:04 PM] TheMpk: So
[4/8/2013 2:10:07 PM] TheMpk: Please rest!"

Now I find you here not sleeping and most of all, 20 minutes?!? ... C'mon man, you gotta rest more than that. It's not healthy for you and we don't want you to get sick or something. So again, please rest well! Damn, it's like you're taking care of the forum while we're taking care of you... =\

And second, the time travel theory has a lot of possible outcomes, but I think the most favorable would be to be able to go so further back or forth for that matter, that you just go beyond time and find out what happens next. What's the next big thing after the Big Bang. However we must keep in mind that time is relative and it can extend or contract based on gravitational field of force. That should be an important factor to be considered for time travel.

And lastly, for all of you out there that are interested in an atheists discussion with God... enjoy this post from my tumblr : Today I met God

Sorry for taking up so much space with this. ^-^'

By definition, can a causality loop ever change? Unless you are referring to the type of loop which changes after iterations, most notably, the idea that all electrons in the universe are the same electron (given that a positron is functionally identical to an electron travelling backwards in time, which is an indication of that, I suppose). It would be helpful for you to elaborate more on this point, I think, as I'm not exactly an expert on theoretical physics.

This article... Definitely worth reading.

For some reason, google imaging El Puprito (MPK's avatar and signature) shows our clan emblem as the fourth result, as well as several of our clan member's avatars throughout the page! eg Raven, Zin, de4th, Brody, hawk, timee, flex, kvey, as well as a man about to kiss a monkey on the lips...

Check it out for a quick laugh!
