hello i am a noob to dark souls and bad at video games. it took me a total of 16 hours just to get where i am at

i play on PC with the normal keyboard layout w/out using mouse (wasd + ijkl). i love it, shut up


so far i have killed abyssal demon, taurus, capra, gargoyles, and havel. also the zappy guy under andre but i dont know his name

but how the fuck am i supposed to kill this piece of shit gaping dragon

i can't fast roll yet, but i am working on it. that is why i am binging on end

first of all, no gamepad - no fun at all. you would not be able to be mobile and do parries.

i assume you just hide behind a shield like a turtle scrub you are, tho don't worry on first run we all thought that str and heavy armor and shields should be good option.

str is no fun compated to fast dex weapons + fastroll. but again, don't be a scrub and buy any gamepad. ANY. thats not even a question.

i'm completing game on level 3 regulary. no magic, no shields and no blocking involved, so STATS DON'T MATTER.

what matter is tactic:
just wait untill he will perform a slam down and start to run like a train. after that hit him in the ass.

overall it's rather easy to fight ALL bosses and regular enemies if you are able to fast roll and hit fast.

just start doing it bit by bit. don't think like if you have souls you need to level up. so at some point you will get rid of this annoying habbit like blocking.

you can do pretty much everything with the keyboard. i can parry. maybe you're the scrub if you need a gamepad

i am not turtling, havent focused on vitality really at all. don't be a dick because my playstyle is different than yours, and don't tell me what's fun and what isn't

i always wounder how people are spending $1000 for new pc, buying $60 games and being cheap as fuck when it comes to spending $5 for gamepad to play comfortable.

Agreed, you pretty much need a pad to play dark souls properly.... It's a port.

but what about everyone who has (and they have) adapted to the keyboard layout? i see tons of veteran players saying that it's pretty much fine, and i can do everything except for rotate the character in the customization screen. literally. that's the only thing i can't do.
