I'm doing a new set and I started from the legs ... there are still a myriad of details and colors

That's a pretty good start. My advice would be to not have the side of the leg be almost blank, give it some detail, something to make it look more interesting (I'm not the world greatest artist.. Just what I
would do)
Be careful on choosing colors, I have a feeling this set could easily be messed up by wrong color choices, experiment with different combinations and make sure to pick the right one

It looks awesome! I liked the way you designed it. How about supernova as primary color? It looks awesome though, If you can use the right shading place, you'll make a great set with it. Goodluck anyway.

It reminds me of the times I actually liked star wars. Reminds me a lot of one of the stormtroopers. I think you could add some aging effects to it to spice it up, but I like it.
