how do i equip colors

Well, if I am understanding this correctly, The "colors" you speak of are seen with the use of Forces, Relaxes, Gradients( there are primary and secondary ones),etc.
These items, which can be purchased in the market or in the ToriShop, come in many colors, but require different amounts of tc and/or qi. But, if you already bought one of these items, then it will appear in your deactivated inventory. To Activate (equip) these items, just simply click on the button that says "[activate]".
Then Boom! Colors!
