Well not a bad move. But I think it'll be cooler if you can kick or punch the Uke.
The damage you get after kicking or punching uke is much bigger if you can do it as hard as kicking and punching irl.
I assume you want to keep chasing him. You have to try to get your legs down to the ground and prefefrably be bent over forward a little. Pay attention to the leg position and how your Tori is falling. The position alone won't help you if you are falling in another way.
Softly pushing back your hips will push you forward again, use arms for balancing.

Keep in mind that it's a game with equal chances on both sides. There's nothing unusual about beating higher belts.
